This ones for all you rebel rockers and lovers of a great riff! In fact lovers of “The Human Riff” So much has been written about ‘Keef’ over the years both good and bad, true and false. But one thing that cannot be denied is his legacy of a lifetime of guitar playing and musical invention. The many memorable classic hooks, riffs, chord progressions, runs and melodies he has created, that never tire of repetition. So we are going to dive deep into this extraordinary canon of creativity and try and get a handle on it. What makes Keith’s guitar playing so cool and so much fun to play? We will explore his back catalogue, his tunings, his guitars his inspirations and his sound. Expect enthusiasm and fun in spades and also learn about ‘the ancient art of guitar weaving’!
WHO IS IT FOR?
This event is for anyone interested in improving their knowledge of Kieth’s playing on both acoustic and/or electric guitar. However all skills are transferable. The retreat is open to all abilities (except complete beginners). You will need to know your first position chord shapes at a minimum. From relative novices to experienced players this course has something for everyone to get involved in.
The main tutor Gary McCausland, is a great admirer of Keith’s playing and a huge fan of the Stones music. Gary will be joined by GR head honcho -Stuart Marshall, who besides playing a mean guitar does a passable ‘Mick Jagger’ impersonation!
The venue and location is the lovely Chiseldon House in Wiltshire, on the edge of the Cotswolds close to Oxford. Easily reachable from anywhere in the UK by road, rail or bus.
